In Muire Gan Smal, we are proud to be recognised as a school that strongly supports student wellbeing. The Department of Education school inspectorate awarded our school an excellent in the area of wellbeing in its most recent whole school inspection, something that we, as a school community are immensely proud of.
To further promote student wellbeing within the school we are currently participating in the Pieta Amber Flag. The Amber Flag, an initiative organised by Pieta recognises the individual efforts of our school to create a healthy, inclusive environment that supports mental wellbeing. Our wellbeing committee will be organising events and activities to promote a positive school environment where students feel valued and are happy coming to school each day. Such events will include friendship week, wellbeing week and supporting students in developing coping strategies to minimise anxiety or worries. We want every student to feel happy and valued coming to school each day.
