Muire Gan Smál Preschool is a community-based early years service providing quality care and education for children aged from 2 years 8 months to 5 years. We are a part-time, sessional service offering both Junior and Senior Preschool sessions from 9.00am to 12.30pm, with the option of early drop-off from 8.30am and an additional hour until 1.30pm.
Our preschool follows a play-based curriculum, delivered by a team of highly qualified and trained staff who are committed to nurturing each child’s development. Children have access to a wide range of learning materials and enjoy rich experiences through sensory play, creative activities, and outdoor exploration. We value our strong links with the local community and regularly explore our surroundings and welcome visitors into our setting.
We also offer a variety of extracurricular activities, including speech and drama and music, to further support children’s confidence and creativity. As part of the Bia Blasta programme, children are provided with healthy snacks prepared fresh each week by staff using nutritious ingredients.
In addition to our preschool service, Muire Gan Smál operates an afterschool service from 1.40pm to 5.30pm, catering for children from Junior Infants to 6th Class. This service provides a relaxed, supportive environment where children can unwind after a busy school day, enjoy activities with friends, and complete their homework if they wish.
